What counts as
Canberra?

For the purposes of membership we use the map on the right as a guide for determining whether an artist lives within or outside the Canberra region - if you live within the red circle, we would consider you live within the Canberra region.

We recognise that artists travel and may spend significant time and energy in a place other than their home town, so while you may not live in Canberra we would also consider you to be working within the Canberra region if you can demonstrate:

• You are recognised as a Canberran artist by peers

• Evidence of consistently promoting yourself as a Canberran artist

• Regularly making and/or presenting work in Canberra

• Employment in Canberra in the arts sector

• Collaboration and active engagement with Canberran artists and the local arts sector.

• Formal training or education in the arts in Canberra (particularly if current and ongoing)
