Greta Cooper
Greta Cooper is an emerging artist working with traditional media including drawing, painting and printmaking. Greta’s practice explores her curiosity with nature and connection with the environment.
Her artworks examine current environmental themes of climate change and global warming and the affects they have on the environment.
Greta is inspired by her family, hometown and connection with the land where she spent her childhood years. Growing up in a small rural town in New South Wales, meant Greta’s backyard was surrounded by the Australian Bush and the ocean.
In 2021, Greta was awarded a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Printmedia and Drawing from School of Art + Design at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. She was awarded two Emerging Artist Support Scheme (EASS) awards in the ANU 2020 Graduating Exhibition.
This included: theACT Legislative Assembly Prizeand a group exhibition,EASS2021, at Gallery of Small Things (GOST) in Canberra.
Greta was invited by GOST to join the permanent stable in March 2022. In May, Greta will have her first solo exhibition in her hometown Moruya.
